Betty Jo Owens Purkey, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 21, 2020. She was born on January 25, 1936, the daughter of the late Park and Belle Brooks Owens.

She was saved and went to her forever home in the presence of the Lord. She worked 28 years for Kroger in Middlesboro. She enjoyed bowling and being with her friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Purkey. She also joins her son-in-law Chuck Reams, sister Joyce Owens King and brother-in-law Delmer King.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Purkey Reams.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held Sunday June 28th. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:30. The service will be from 4:30-5:00 at the Shawanee Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
