Lady Dragons hold off Middlesboro in All ‘A’ regional

Ella Karst put the Harlan Lady Dragons in control by hitting five shots in the second quarter, including three 3-pointers, then Natalee King made certain they stayed ahead by connecting on five of eight free throws in the fourth quarter as Harlan advanced to the 13th Region All “A’ Classic semifinals with a 45-38 win Tuesday at Pineville.
Karst, an eighth-grade guard, scored 18 to lead the 8-5 Lady Dragons. King, a senior forward, added 13 points.
Emrey Glover led the 2-12 Lady Jackets with 11 points.
Harlan will play Jackson County on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the semifinals. Pineville will take on Williamsburg at 6 in the opening semifinal. The championship game is set for Friday at 7 p.m.
