Lady Cats sweep Middlesboro in straight sets

Bell County’s successful season continued on Tuesday when the Lady Cats defeated in-county rival Middlesboro in straight sets (25-12, 25-23, 25-16). The win improves Bell County’s record to 11-7 while the Lady Jackets fall to 1-13.
Madison Ford led the Lady Cats with 13 kills, 20 digs and five service aces. Makenna Lefevers tallied nine kills, 26 digs and nine service aces. Raegan Robbins contributed two kills, 27 assists, 14 digs and six service aces. Lauren Fultz finished the night with 20 digs, and Clara Bolinger tallied 11 service aces and 11 digs.
Middlesboro was led by Amber Mullins with 3 kills, one block, one assist and three service aces. Shelby Herrell finished the night with two kills, two blocks, one assist, two digs and four service aces. Autumn Short contributed one block, one assist, two digs and one service ace. Emalee Sullivan tallied three service aces.
Bell County (11-7) returned to action on Thursday against Williamsburg (10-13). Middlesboro was slated to battle Barbourville (0-20) on Thursday.
