WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — he Union College football remains on the road this week but returns to NAIA competition, as it pays Webber International University (Fla.) a visit.
Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Denison Stadium in Winter Haven, Fla.
This is the fourth meeting between the two squads with Webber holding a 2-1 series lead. Ironically, the visiting team has won every game in the series thus far. Union won the inaugural showdown 10-7 in 2012, but Webber won 20-19 in 2013 and 27-9 last season.
The Bulldogs and Warriors both enter the contest 0-1 on the year. Union dropped a 44-7 decision at NCAA Division I Morehead State University (Ky.) on Aug. 29, while Webber fell 16-6 to No. 10 Reinhardt University (Ga.) on Aug. 24. The Warriors were scheduled to play Middle Georgia State University last weekend, but the game was canceled due to Hurricane Dorian.
Webber enters the game a minus-1 in the turnover battle, while Union comes in at minus-3. Offense has been hard to come by for both teams as Union tallied 315 yards in total offense in its lone game, while Webber gained only 160 against Reinhardt.
