Man attempts to jump out of window to avoid arrest

A man who tried to jump out of a window to avoid going to jail remains in the Bell County Detention Center.
Troy Evan Bates, 37, attempted to jump through a bathroom window but was arrested a short time later by Middlesboro police officers, recently.
Bates is charged with fourth-degree domestic violence, first-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), second-degree bail jumping and failure to appear in court.
Officers Michael Bradley and Dakota Torstrick responded to a complaint at Rennie Gayle Homes of a domestic issue between two people arguing inside one of the homes.
When officers arrived, they discovered that Bates had assaulted a female.
Bates was arrested and taken to the Bell County Detention Center, where he was additionally charged with two bench warrants for criminal mischief and probable probation violation.
He is being held with no bond.
