A Middlesboro man remains behind bars following his arrest Monday afternoon.
Jerry Dean Robinson, age 49, was arrested by Middlesboro Police Officer Michael Bradley in the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Robinson is charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking (vehicle) $500 or more but under $10,000, third-degree criminal mischief, two counts of theft by unlawful taking of a firearm, and three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to the citation from the Middlesboro Police Department, Robinson admitted to stealing a Ford F-150 from the Middlesboro Airport that was parked inside a secured fenced in area and then running through two fences. One of the fences was the airport fence and the second was a resident’s fence.
Following the incident, officer Bradley, who previously arrested Robinson for stealing a bicycle in July, states that Robinson traveled through the area of the Middlesboro ARH, where he allegedly stole another vehicle. This vehicle contained a handgun, a shotgun and tools.
It was at the KFC parking lot when Robinson was attempting to enter another vehicle that he was caught. He was seen on surveillance video attempting to enter a PT Cruiser.
Bradley states in both of his citations that Robinson is a convicted felon. He remains in the Bell County Detention Center.
