The good times rolled Thursday night at the Levitt AMP Middlesboro Music Series.
Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers were the headliners of the night and brought everyone to their feet with their rhythmic music that moved throughout the entire crowd.
Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers’ energy was so contagious that the crowd couldn’t help to move wherever they were. Whether sitting in a chair, standing in line to get food, or even sitting on the ground, everyone was moving and enjoying the show.
“What an amazing show,” Levitt AMP Music Series emcee Dana Greene said following the performance.
The crowd was so enthusiastic following the bands almost two-hour performance they interrupted Greene — who was attempting to say goodnight. Seeing the reaction from the crowd, Dopsie and the band took the stage and performed two more songs.
“It’s been a great night,” Dopsie said as they closed out the evening. “Middlesboro, we love you very much and we can’t wait to come back and do it again.”
Following the show, Dopsie and the band was as excited as the crowd to hang around and take pictures and sign autographs.
“It was a great time,” Dopsie expressed. “The energy this community showed was contagious. We do look forward to coming back again.”
Throughout the night, Dopsie led a parade that winded in and out of the crowd that continued to grow each time they made their way through the Levitt Lot.
“We let the good times roll with the exciting and fun-filled music of Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers,” Greene said. “Be sure and come out next week for another fun-filled performance.”
Opening the evening performance was Middlesboro native, Levi Cadle and the Band.
“Levi and the Band, wow, what talent,” community member Carolyn Bolton said. “Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers great show and Jenna was a special bonus. It was a great night of entertainment.”
Local community member Jenna Jefferson wowed the crowd as well when she joined Dopsie for a melodic version of “When the Saints go Marching In.”
Pat Ansett commented on the Levitt AMP Facebook page, “Awesome show.”
“I really enjoyed the concert last night,” community member Barbara Kinner Day said.
