BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Are you ready for some football?
The 2019 Union College football is out, and it features 11 games with five home dates.
The Bulldogs remain members of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Appalachian Division; however, the division has some new faces with a pair of rivals leaving the division. Cincinnati Christian University (Ohio) and Kentucky Christian University are now in the MSC Appalachian, while University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) and University of Pikeville (Ky.) have transitioned to the MSC Bluegrass division.
Union opens the season with a Thursday night game at NCAA Division I Morehead State University on Aug. 29 and follows that contest with a date at Webber International University (Fla.) on Sept. 7. The Bulldogs returns home for a pair of non-divisional clashes against St. Thomas University (Fla.) and Campbellsville University on Sept. 14 and Sept. 21, respectively.
The annual Battle for the Brass Lantern against Cumberlands is set for Sept. 28 in Williamsburg.
The MSC Appalachian slate begins on Oct. 5 with a trip to Bluefield College (Va.). Union will host three division games against St. Andrews University (N.C.) on Oct. 12, Point University (Ga.) on Oct. 26, and Kentucky Christian on Nov. 9. The remaining road divisional contests are at Cincinnati Christian on Oct. 19 and Reinhardt University (Ga.) on Nov. 16.
Last season, Union went 2-8 overall and 1-5 in MSC Appalachian play. The Bulldogs produced three All-MSC Appalachian Team members.
