Carpenter arrested for attempted pharmacy robbery in Harrogate

A man is behind bars after attempting to rob a Harrogate pharmacy on Friday. Casey Lynn Carpenter was arrested by deputies with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office and charged with robbery and criminal trespassing.
According to Chris Cardwell with the sheriff’s office, a subject in a hoodie walked into the Village Shop Pharmacy. He said employees noticed the subject had his hood up, and they felt like something didn’t look right. They preemptively called 9-1-1.
According to Cardwell, Carpenter slid a note to one of the employees requesting drugs. Deputy Jake Engle arrived on scene and was able to apprehend the suspect, later identified as Carpenter.
Others recently arrested on felony charges include:
• Heather Demaro, 22, of Pineville, was arrested by deputies with the Bell County Sheriff’s Office and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree criminal trespassing and a bench warrant;
• George Darrell Fisher, 47, of Bell County, was arrested by officers with the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with two counts of attempted murder, violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon;
• Sandra K. Garland, 48, of Cannon, was arrested by troopers with the Kentucky State Police and charged with first- and third-degree trafficking a controlled substance;
• Marshal D. Gray, 22, of Middlesboro, was arrested by officers with the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a legend drug;
• Erica L. Jackson, 36, of Pineville was arrested by deputies with the Bell County Sheriff’s Office and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance;
• Shawn Lawless, 45, of Middlesboro, was arrested by officers with the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, license plate not legible, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, no operator’s license and four bench warrants;
• Michael Lee, 18, was arrested by troopers with the Kentucky State Police and charged with second-degree burglary;
• Austin D. Mullins, 18, of Pineville, was arrested by officers with the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and served a bench warrant;
• Leanna M. Napier, 28, of Harrogate, Tenn., was arrested by officers with the Middlesboro Police Department and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and seven bench warrants;
• Benjamin Colburn Rose, 27, of Barbourville, was arrested by deputies with the Bell County Sheriff’s Office and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
