Headlining the 89th Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival this weekend is Wynonna and the Big Noise.
The band will take the stage this Thursday night at Bell County High School following the opening and welcoming from Chairperson Becky Combs Collett and Co-Chairman Colby Slusher.
The self-titled “Wynonna and the Big Noise” is the eighth studio album by country music singer Wynonna Judd.
The album was released in 2016 and is her first full-length studio album since 2003 when “What the World Needs Now is Love” was released.
The KMLF is the kick-off for the bands summer tour that will take them across the country and will wrap up at the 2019 Rhythm and Roots Reunion in Bristol, Tenn.
You can view the bands full tour schedule on their website at www.wynonna.com.
Thursday there will be an all day picnic at Pine Mountain State Resort Park and downtown arts and crafts surrounding courthouse square.
The official opening of the festival will take place at 7 p.m. when the princess and queen candidates are introduced prior to Wynonna (Judd) and the Big Noise taking the stage to perform.
