Bell drops sixth straight in loss to Barbourville

One day after falling to the Clay County Tigers 11-1 on the road, the Bell County Bobcats fell to the Barbourville Tigers 9-6 on the road on Tuesday.
D.J. Estes started on the mound for Bell County, pitching four innings and allowing three hits and six runs (five earned) with four walks and two strikeouts. Alex Mayes took the mound in relief of Estes, pitching one inning and allowing three hits and one run (unearned) with one walk and a strikeout.
Hayden Clark then took the mound in the sixth inning, pitching one inning, allowing three hits and two runs (one earned) with one walk and zero strikeouts.
The Bobcats amassed 13 hits on the afternoon, led by Jacob Smith, Estes and Mayes with two hits each. Estes led Bell County with two RBI on the afternoon. Smith, Hunter Clark and Ethan Brock added one RBI each.
The loss marks the sixth straight for Bell County with only three regular season games remaining. With the loss, the Bobcats moved to 6-14 on the season.
With the victory, Barbourville improves 17-11 on the year.
The Bobcats were slated to play the Williamsburg Yellow Jackets on the road Thursday. The Tigers are slated to take on the Corbin Redhounds on Friday in Corbin.
