Lone Jack School Center hosted a Hawaiian Luau Kick-off for MAP testing (April 9-May 3). Hawaiian style clothing was the dress for the day. Students competed in a Limbo contest, which ended in a tie between Aiden Jones (sixth grade) and Blake Wilder (eighth grade). To top the day off, Shanna Philpot allowed her pet miniature goat, Carlos, to visit the students. Teachers and administration agreed to kiss Carlos, during another visit, if Lone Jack rocks the MAP scores. Here, Lisa Redmon, principal, gets students fired up about MAP Testing and meeting their goals. Sophia Layne (kindergarten), Brantley McVey (kindergarten), Bentley Garland (second grade) and Gabriell Lannan (first grade) are ready to score high on the MAP testing.
Blake Wilder, eighth grade, competes in the limbo competition.
