First Priority Track Meet results

The Middlesboro track teams participated in the First Priority Meet of Champions on April 30 in Williamsburg.
Clay County, Corbin, Knox Central, Leslie County, Lynn Camp, McCreary Central, Middlesboro, Pulaski County, Riverside Christian, Somerset Christian, South Laurel, Southwestern, Whitley County and Williamsburg were all in attendance.
In the men’s 100-meter dash, Scotty Overbay gave Middlesboro their best finish of the event, with a sixth place finish and a time of 11.87 seconds. In the men’s 200-meter dash, Alex Mason took second place with a time of 23.28. Jabari Kyle finished in sixth place with a time of 24.55 seconds.
Josh Overbay gave Middlesboro their best finish in the men’s 400-meter dash with a time of 54.77 seconds and a third place finish. T.J. Patterson was the next Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line with a time of 58.96 and a 13th place finish.
Junior Arrieta gave Middlesboro their best finish in the men’s 800-meter dash, with a time of 2:13.37 and an eighth place finish. Cameron Michaelis was the next Middlesboro runner to cross the line as he finished 21st with a time of 2:36.74.
Ozzy Norris notched a top-five finish in the men’s 1600-meter dash, finishing in fourth place with a time of 5:01.72.
In the men’s 110-meter hurdles, Nathan Napier took fourth place with a time of 18.80 seconds, and Blaine Woody finished fifth with a time of 19.25 seconds. In the men’s 300-meter hurdles, Isiah Dick took ninth place with a time of 49.78 seconds. He was followed by Napier who finished eleventh with a time of 54.08 seconds.
Middlesboro took first place in the men’s 4×100-meter event, with a time of 45.10 seconds. They also took fourth in the 4×800-meter relay with a time of 9:26.35.
Steven Poore grabbed a second place finish in the men’s high jump, with a height of 5 feet and 10 inches. He also took third in the men’s long jump, with a distance of 18 feet and 7 and a half inches.
Poore took sixth place in the men’s triple jump with a total distance of 36 feet and 6 and one quarter inches. Eric Helton grabbed seventh place with a total distance of 34 feet and 8 and one quarter inches.
In the women’s 100-meter dash, Kayla James took sixth place with a time of 14.19 seconds. Marta Segura grabbed a fourth place finish for Middlesboro in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 29.94 seconds.
Grace Rose took fifth in the women’s 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.87. Kennadi Larew took ninth place in the women’s 800-meter dash with a time of 2:51.64. She was followed by Kristin Keith, who finished 11th, with a time of 2:55.44.
Mallory James notched a third place finish in the women’s 1600-meter dash with a time of 6:01.49. Haven Hatfield grabbed a fifth place finish in the women’s 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.98.
The Lady Jackets took sixth in the women’s 4×100-meter relay with a time of 58.75 and finished fourth in the women’s 4x 200-meter relay with a time of 2:01.08. Middlesboro grabbed a first place finish in the women’s 4×800-meter dash with a time of 10:53.49.
