Pineville strung together their second consecutive victory on Tuesday with a 61-44 rout of Barbourville. It was an all-around effort for the Lady Lions, who needed only five players to score in the lopsided victory.
“This was the best game we played as a team all season,” said Pineville coach Jamie Mills. “Defense was excellent, and we had several players scoring, rebounding and passing.”
Raigan King paced Pineville in both scoring and rebounds. The sophomore center finished with a team-high 19 points while shooting 70 percent from the field. She capped off her double-double performance with a team-leading 13 rebounds.
“Raigan was awesome inside. She posted up very strong on offense, and we did a great job of getting her the basketball,” said Mills about the sophomore center. “She rebounded great resulting in a double-double. We are playing well and growing as a team.”
Whitney Caldwell and Virginia Hall also reached double figures during the game. Caldwell finished the night with 17 points and six rebounds. Hall tallied 14 points while shooting at a 56 percent clip.
Chesney Brock nearly grabbed a double-double of her own hauling in eight rebounds to go along with her eight points. Summer Partin ended the game with three points.
