Offering menu selections such as steak, seafood, chicken, and sushi, Yamato Steakhouse of Japan brings a new menu to Middlesboro.

“We really liked this area,” manager Jeffrey Zhu said. “I have a partner who has Yamato in Corbin and I wanted to bring something new to the area and Middlesboro did not have a Japanese restaurant so we wanted to bring the experience here.”

“Everything we make here is fresh,” he explained. “When the customer comes in and orders, that’s when we prepare it.”

Zhu is from Cincinnati, Ohio and has been in the restaurant business for more than 25 years. He says customer service is always the most important in the dining experience.

“We always try to bring fresh food and the best service possible,” he said.

Yamato is located at 445 North 12th Street and is open seven days a week.
