Bobcats fall to Patriots 79-69

After struggling on offense for the first half, Bell County fell to Knott County Central in the WYMT Mountain Classic Tournament at Perry County Central in Hazard Wednesday night, 79-69.
“We just had a tough night shooting the ball,” said Bobcats Head Coach Frankie Smith. “We had a plenty of good looks, we just couldn’t get anything to fall. We just couldn’t get anything to fall in the first half, but I’m proud of the way our boys fought, they never gave up.”
The Bobcats scored only 22 points in the first half, compared to 47 points in the second half, when senior Isaac Collett hit seven three-pointers, tying a Classic record for three-pointers made in one game.
Bell County led in scoring by Collett who totaled 21 points He was followed by Tyler Partin who added 12 points, Sawyer Brock with 9, Ryan Lambdin with 8, and London Stephney with 5.
Knott County Central had five players in double-digit points, led in scoring by Colby Napier, who totaled 24 points. He was followed by Branson Couch and Darron Whitakert who added 14 apiece, and Gannon Couch and Josh McGuire who added 11 apiece.
