Family scares for a good cause

A Halloween-themed fundraiser will be held for Pineville Early Head Start/Pre-school on Oct. 4.
All funds raised will contribute to a purchasing gifts for children for Christmas, as well as contributing to field trips throughout the school year.
This is event will be one of the many yearly events that help local children enjoy their holidays. Other similar activities include the ROHO Fishing Tournament, as well as the annual Kentucky State Police Shop with a Trooper program. Each event takes place at the Middlesboro Walmart every December to help provide under-served local children.
The event is Family Movie Night and it will be held at the Bell Theater in Pineville.
The film will be “Hotel Transylvania 2.” The franchise was been a consistent hit among audiences since the first film was released in 2012. The third installment was recently release this summer.
For those unaware, the franchise is a computer animated, family-friendly story about the misadventures of Count Dracula, who owns and operates a hotel for monsters.
On top of the film, the fundraiser will also feature a meet and greet with Frankenstein and other monsters.
Concessions such as candy, popcorn and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Showtime is 6 p.m. and tickets are $3 each.
