10th annual survivors dinner slated

According to breastcancer.org, one in eight women, a 12.5 percentage, will develop invasive breast cancer at some point during the course of their life.
For 2018, it is estimated that 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer are aniticipated to be diagnosed.
On Oct. 6, Middlesboro ARH will host the 10th Annual Breast Cancer Surivor Celebration.
It is also estimated that 40,920 women will die from breast cancer in 2018. The number of deaths due to the disease has decreased since 1989, however.
After skin cancer, breast cancer is the most diagnosed form of the disease in American women.
Men can also suffer from breast cancer, with an estimated 2,550 expected to be diagnosed with it this years.
The theme of the celebration is “Surviving with Laughter.”
The event will feature dinner, show and a tree lighting ceremony. Christian comedian, author and breast cancer survivor Tracy DeGraaf will be present and provide entertainment.
The celebration will take place at the Binghamtown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Tickets are $25 and seating is limited.
