Good vibes keep rolling towards the Lincoln Memorial University women’s volleyball program.
After a thrilling conference-opening victory over Queens Friday night, the Lady Railsplitters started their new week the right way. On Monday, the South Atlantic Conference announced that LMU’s Tone Gill was named Astroturf SAC Volleyball Player of the Week.
The senior smacked down 11 kills, using a season-high .333 hitting percentage with just three errors, two digs and one assist while batting down another season-high nine block assists en route to a LMU 3-1 home victory over the Royals. Gill is also leading the SAC in blocks per set (1.59), and sits in second place in block assists and third in solo blocks.
The middle hitter’s success on the net goes outside of the SAC as she is ranked fifth in NCAA Division II in block assists.
Gill, a Nashville, Tenn., native, compiled a third new season-high with 15.5 points to pace the Lady Railsplitters to a 1-0 advantage in SAC play.
