HARROGATE, Tenn. — The Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) Paul V. Hamilton School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and The LMU Players will hold auditions for the 2018 fall production of “Our Town,” Aug. 30 through Sept. 1.
Assistant Professor of Theater Joe Gill will direct the production of “Our Town,” a 1938, three-act play by American playwright Thornton Wilder. It tells the story of the fictional American small town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913 through the everyday lives of its citizens.
Auditions will take place in the Sam and Sue Mars Performing Arts Center in the Duke Hall of Citizenship on LMU’s main campus in Harrogate, Tennessee. Auditions will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 31 and noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 1. An audition sign-up sheet is posted on the theater board outside Room 112 in Avery Hall.
Participants will be asked to present a one-minute monologue, preferably from memory. Monologues will be available for cold readings.
For more information or a copy of the monologues, contact Gill at 423-869-6265 or joseph.gill@LMUnet.edu.
The dinner theater production is set for Nov. 1-3 and 8-9 in the LMU-Cumberland Gap Convention Center.
