DENVER, Colo. — After a breakout performance at the NBA Summer League, former Lincoln Memorial University All-American forward Emanuel Terry has signed a training camp deal with the Denver Nuggets. The announcement was made on Tuesday
Terry, who landed a spot on the Nuggets summer league roster after going undrafted, turned heads in Las Vegas by posting 7.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 61 percent from the field in five appearances.
In addition to his on-the-court production, coaches also took notice of his defensive versatility, athleticism and energy levels.
A 6-9 native of Enterprise, Alabama, Terry was responsible for one of the most accomplished careers in the history of the LMU men’s basketball program.
During his tenure, the Railsplitters went a combined 126-14, won four straight South Atlantic Conference regular-season titles and made two consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II national semifinals, including a run to the 2016 national championship game.
In his four seasons, LMU posted four straight 30-win seasons and were ranked No. 1 in the nation at least once each year.
Terry ended his career as the only player in program history with over 1,000 career points, 800 career rebounds and 200 career blocks. As a senior, he piled up 16.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game to earn SAC Player of the Year, SAC Defensive Player of the Year, Southeast Region Player of the Year and consensus All-American status.
He was also tabbed as the Bevo Francis Award recipient, which is given annually to the best player competing outside of the NCAA Division I ranks.
