Williamsburg — Following a 21-10 season that ended with a fifth straight trip to the NAIA national tournament, head coach Don Butcher has announced the signing of 6’4 point guard Nnamdi Van Dulm. Van Dulm is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and spent last season at NCAA Division I North Dakota State University.

“Nnamdi is a great addition to our program,” said Butcher. “He possess great size and strength at the point guard position. He is very dynamic in transition where he uses his strength and speed to create opportunities for himself and his teammates. He is going to give us great versatility on the defensive end of the floor. Not only is he a very good basketball player, but he is a high character young man who is going to excel off the floor and in the classroom. We look forward to getting him in a Patriot uniform.”

As a senior at West Allis Central High School, Van Dulm helped lead his team to the final four of the state tournament for the first time in over 50 years. During his senior campaign, he averaged 10 points per game, five rebounds per game, and four assist per game.

“I committed to University of the Cumberlands because of the institution’s academic rigor and the basketball program’s winning pedigree,” said Van Dulm. “I look forward to putting on a Patriot uniform and competing in front of zealous fans for the next two seasons.”
