Summer fun in Pineville

Summer is the time to kick back and enjoy the heat and clear skies with family and friends. While life in the mountains may be perceived as slower paced, that doesn’t stop Bell County from offering all kinds of events for the community to get involved in such as the Wing Fling and the Levitt AMP Music Series in downtown Middlesboro.

Main Street Pineville is also doing its part to engage the community during the summer. On June 14, Main Street Pineville will host a double-header performance by noted local band The Kudzu Killers —fresh off of a performance at the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival — and Jordan King.

The show will be at the courthouse square with King letting loose at 6:30 p.m. and the Kudzu Killers following at 8 p.m.

The various restaurants located on the downtown square will be open as well, so all who attend can enjoy food and drinks during the show.

Also, if you and others are looking for a fun way to cool down, the Pineville city pool is now available to rent for private parties. To reserve either of the venues, forms must be filled out at City Hall and a fee must be paid prior to the rental.

All parties scheduled for the pool will begin 30 minutes after the regular hours are over for the day.

The pricing is as follows: For two hours with 25 people or less in the pool, the fee is $100. For the same time frame with more than 25 people, the fee is $125. For three hours with 25 people or less, the fee is $150. For the three-hour time frame with more than 25 people, the fee is $200. All of the payments are due by the time of the scheduled party.
