Summer is officially in full swing and with it all of the community happenings around town are underway. One of the local businesses in Middlesboro that is continually hosting and offering things to do in town for the community is the Middlesboro Mall.
First on the docket for June 15, A Service Group — in partnership with SRK-Tennessee of Tazewell — will be hosting a job fair at the mall. There are immediate openings available for production associates, shipping/receiving, and material handling.
According to the official flyer, the job requirements consist of being able to lift 40 pounds on a continuous basis, being able to work in a fast pace and hot environment, being able to work overtime, and a steady work history.
No diploma is required and benefits will be available once a qualifying period of employment has passed. The job fair will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Next on the docket is the Cruisin’ the Crater Car Show, an annual event at the mall where the community can come out and enjoy a variety of pristine automobiles that once traversed the American highways.
The car show has become something of a tradition in Middlesboro and runs all summer long, ending in September. It is held every third Saturday of the month. Set up is absolutely free and local businesses donate prizes that will be given away.
This year, a grill is up for grabs in September. Music is always playing thanks to Gary England, and July 6 will boast a live performance from the Station Creek Band at 6 p.m.
Each car show is from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
From June 14 — 17, the Big Toys 4 Big Boys event will offer local dealers a chance to show off their high end trucks, SUVs, ATVs, golf carts, watercrafts and more. Dealers participation this year are Cumberland Ford, Tim Short, M&R Golf Carts, Shake and Bake Motorsports and others.
