The annual Read Across America event is scheduled for today, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Middlesboro Mall. The event, held to encourage reading in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, will have educational activities, table displays, entertainment, a costume contest and free books available. It’s hosted by the Children’s Reading Foundation of Appalachia and E-CATCH of Bell County. The LMU Art Club painted numerous windows in the mall in preparation for the big day.
