Pineville comes up short against Thomas Walker

Pineville suffered a heartbreaking defeat on Tuesday during the team’s home opener against Thomas Walker. After holding a lead heading into the fourth quarter, the Mountain Lions were held to 12 points in the final period while the Pioneers put up 20.
Thomas Walker was able to pull away for a 61-58 victory, handing Pineville their second loss of the season.
Caleb Yeary provided the Pioneers with the offensive power they needed to win the game. The guard led all scorers with 29 points while going 7-for-7 from the charity stripe and hitting six 3-pointers.
Tucker Barton finished the game with 13 points for Thomas Walker with Ty Williams adding 10 points to the scoreboard.
Ben Goodin led Pineville with a team-high 19 points while shooting a team-high 88 percent from the field. Brendan King tallied nine points on the night while hauling in three rebounds.
Braxton Caldwell scored eight points while shooting at a 60 percent clip. Josh Lawson led the team in rebounds with six, but he was held to three points on the night.

Pineville (1-2) will travel to Red Bird (1-3) at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
