Lady Cats lose heartbreaker

It came down to the final moments when Bell County hosted Pulaski County on Friday. In the end, it was the Lady Maroons who walked away with the 55-54 victory over the Lady Cats.
Neither team controlled them game with neither team leading by more than single digits at the end of each quarter. In the end, a three-point halftime lead was all it took for Pulaski to create enough separation to earn the win.
Brittney Cupp and Brittney Davis paced the Lady Cats offensively. Cupp was one rebound shy of registering her second double-double of the season ending the game with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds.
Davis tallied 14 points while shooting 50 percent from the field and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line. Abby Harris performed well on the night with 10 points and six rebounds.
Caroline Oakes led all scorers during the game with 20 points. Madelyn Blankenship and Ashlynn Pennington scored nine and eight points, respectively.

After losing 60-44 to Clay County on Saturday, Bell County (1-2) will return to action at 6 p.m. on Friday when they travel to Harlan (0-1).
Pulaski County (1-1) will travel to Danville (1-2) on Tuesday.
