KET welcomed a group of students from Bell County High School on Oct. 12. The students participated in KET’s Media Lab workshops, which offer hands-on training in basic video production and editing, use of iPads and smart phones to create classroom multi-media projects, and more.

KET Media Lab workshops are free to Kentucky public and private schools, home schools, community service organizations and government social agencies. The workshops support Kentucky and national academic standards as well as ISTE and national technology standards and are approved by the Kentucky Department of Education for K-12 teacher professional development training.

During their field trip to KET’s network center in Lexington, student groups can also tour the KET production facilities to get a behind-the-scenes look at how KET programs are made.

A grant from the Kentucky Department of Education provides travel reimbursement for teachers and students in grades K-12 at Kentucky public schools who schedule a KET Media Lab workshop during the current school year.
