Bell County quickly recovered from a disappointing loss a week ago to Corbin. The Bobcats used their strong rushing attack to hand Jackson County a 49-12 defeat on Friday.
The win locks Bell County into third place in the district and guarantees them a trip to Breathitt County in the first round of the playoffs. Jackson County will finish the regular season in fourth place thanks to a victory over McCreary Central earlier in the year. The Generals will travel to Powell County for the first round.
The Bobcat rushing attack was anchored by Colby Frazier, who ran for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries. Tanner Asher rushed for 64 yards on five carries, and Will Dean finished the game with 33 yards and a touchdown on three carries.
Issac Collett went 4-for-6 through the air for 49 yards and two touchdown. Jason Jones hauled in three catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. Antonio Zachery caught an 11-yard touchdown on his lone reception.
Kyle Burnett and Jordan Wombles led the team in tackles with eight apiece. Dawson Widener and Zachery each finished with seven tackles. Zachery also grabbed an interception on the night.
Jackson County struggled to find production offensively throughout the game. Shawn Browning paced the team on the ground with 40 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries. Isiah Baker carried the ball 16 times but could only tally 22 yards.
Through the air, Baker completed seven of his 17 attempts for 116 yards and a touchdown. He also tossed an interception during the game. Andy Bryant hauled in an 82-yard touchdown on his only catch of the night. Dylan Martin grabbed five catches for 25 yards.
